Ahal Dara situated at a distance of 5kms from Latpanchar gives you the 360 degree view of the entire hill region including kalimpong , bagora , gangtok, tinchuley. Standing at the peak of Ahal Dara the view of the Kanchenjunga is most memorable and magnificent. Sunrise from ahal dara is said to be even better than tiger hill in Darjeeling. The clarity of the Mountain just takes your breathe away. The peacefulness of the peak point comes to you as so heavenly. The windy cold breeze and the rustling of the leaves makes you feel like you are in the top of the world.
Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary :
Mahananda Wildlife sanctuary situated on the banks of River Mahananda gets its name from the same river flowing through it. Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary is a beautiful forest located at the foothills of Himalayas, between river mahananda and teesta. Royal Bengal Tiger and bison are found in this forest. Trekking is available to tourist. Guides are provided and can be arranged from the homestay nearby.
View Point : Sarsari Dara
Sarsari dara is a breathe taking view point in latpanchar. Sarsari dara is about one and half kiolometers from latpanchar which provides breath taking view of the sunrise and sunset. Different species of birds comes here throughout the season like Scaly Thrush, Magpie, Spotted Eagle Minla etc. Best time to visit sarsari dara and other view points of latpanchar is during October and march, april. The surrounding place from sarsari dara looks like a beautiful canvas painted by nature itself for us to enjoy.
